Oliver Lang - Biography

Integrity Artist Management are proud to announce their new house roster signing ... Ibiza legend Oliver Lang!

Having grown up in a musical household, with his Dad playing bass in 60's pop band The Mindbenders, Oliver Lang set out dj-ing in clubs aged 14. By 16 he had released a record, and at 18 he packed up his record box and moved to Ibiza. Now celebrating a decade on the white isle, 2008 could not get much better for Oliver.

As he begins his 10th season in clubbing mecca Ibiza, Mixmag’s “Future Hero Of House” continues to blow the crowds away, taking his music to all the coolest and most glamorous nights on the island – a chunky, underground tech-house sound, combined with unrivalled enthusiasm that incinerates dancefloors the world over.

As well from returning to his legendary residency at Ibiza’s Bora Bora beach, where you can catch him daily providing the perfect summer soundtrack for the ultimate all day party, Oliver’s Playa d’en Bossa domination continues over the road on Tuesdays at Space alongside Carl Cox for the biggest party on the island.  His busy Ibiza schedule doesn’t stop there; as well as securing a regular guest slot with the notorious Manumission at Amnesia, performing a double set across the main room and terrace, you will find Oliver at Xtravaganza beside Alex Gold at Europe’s largest club, Privilege.  Not to mention Miss Moneypenny’s at Ibiza town’s El Divino, as well as setting sail on boat parties for Manchester promoter Bitch which leave from San Antonio’s harbour.

His DJ diary goes beyond the white isle back in the UK where he continually plays for all the biggest nights and venues. In his hometown of Manchester, Oliver has a date and a residency in the pipeline at superclub Sankeys as well as regular gigs for Q Club, The Plug, Mission, Junk Club, Pacha London and Honey Club.  With a new London residency starting this winter at up and coming club The House in Greenwich, with its Ibiza style outdoor terrace right underneath Luton Airport flight path mirroring Bora Bora’s unique vibe, it is a home from home for Oliver.

Spending more time abroad than he does in the UK, Oliver is clocking up the air miles, reaching all corners of the globe. September sees him playing alongside Erick Morillo at V Club in Vienna, then it’s directly to Slovakia where he is billed to perform in front of 15,000 people at the Disco TV festival in connection with MTV!

A string of successful and extensive tours in 2007, including three weeks covering Australia & Asia, and a 3-week 13-date itinerary in Brazil over New Year, has lead to Oliver being invited back to do it all over again in 2008!  The start of the year saw a two week tour of Australia in April sponsored by Queensland’s Number 1 DJs The Stafford Brothers, who are also getting him back in December to see in Christmas and kick start 2009 meaning Oliver begins and ends 2008 on different sides of the planet!

Back in the studio the master is at work churning out weaponry that fires up dancefloors as soon as it is dropped. Following on from the success of ‘Dancing Girls’, available on Toolroom and backed by Radio 1’s  Trophy Twins, his latest production Bomb The Terrace was snapped up by Azuli for detonation on July 21st.  Oliver explains, “its got that Ibiza big room sound. Its an in yer face peak time track which is getting played by everybody”

Keeping true to his love of Ibiza, Oliver's remix of Café Del Mar with support from original artist Energy 52, has been signed to the label Grand Casino (of parent label Superstition) for release together with the original Three N One remix later this year. The package, to be put out on top dance label 'All Around The World' in the UK, MOS in Australia and Grand Casino for the rest of Europe, also includes remixes from the Canadian superstar that is Deadmau5, plus Da Bruck & Klein, Dave Robertson, Whelan & Di Scala and Out Of Office - placing Oliver's work alongside the hottest producers of the moment..

Since remixing singles for labels such as Big Love Records, Umm Records and Lowered Recordings including a remix of Jamiroquai’s chart hit “Dynamite”, Denmark’s dance label Lifted House have commissioned a collaboration between Oliver and Ida Corr for a remix of her next single “Ride My Tempo” which is due to be released worldwide!

As if global performances and high profile productions were not enough, Oliver is launching his own label, Dojo, this summer.  Providing a platform to experiment and work with other producers he has met and respected over the years, Oliver tells us, “my focus is to evolve my own sound to put out on my own label”.

Proving he is an artist who is now equally at home making music as he is playing it, evidently there is no “future” about it - Oliver is already the hero of house.
