Oliver Lang - Biography

As resident for Ibiza institution Bora Bora Oliver Lang plays daily to a mad for it 4000 strong audience throughout the summer. The beach club It is one of the only venues left on the island that is not hedonistically restricted by the new licensing laws, allowing people the freedom to party outside throughout the day to Oliver’s legendary underground tech house sets.

Elsewhere on the island you can catch Oliver playing guest appearances for Privelege’s new night WARUNG on Wednesdays which includes artists such as Behrouz, 16Bit Lolitas, Paolo Mojo, Gui Baratto, Matt Tolfrey to mention a few.
Away from the white isle, Oliver kicked started 2010 playing for 10,000 people at the “I Love New Year” party at Centennial Hall in Wroclaw Poland alongside Tocasdiso, Sean Tyas and Marcel Woods. back in the UK Oliver continues to play for leading nights up and down the country for the likes of Sankeys in his hometown of Manchester, Honey club in Brighton and Gallery @ Ministry Of Sound London paving the way for two new major residencies with industry heavyweights Perverted Audio (formerly at Matter London) as well as for leading global clubbers brand Gatecrasher.

In music terms Oliver Lang could be lauded as having something of a purveyor of good quality house music. In the last few years has seen production flirts for the likes of Jamiroquai, Tom Novy, Ida Corr and Funkaman, leading to his music being nestled among the CD wallets of the scenes most noted luminaries in players such as Sasha, Tiesto, Nick Warren and Erick Morillo.

Signed to Fabric Publishing, Oliver’s music has been an ever present mark on the musical radar of imprints like Toolroom, Azuli, Spinnin, Nebula and Blackhole. During the past 6 months his studio output has seen standout summer scores in ‘Madcat / Dying To Live’ (Toolroom) and ‘Rave Train’ (Spinnin’) leave a winning mark in each and every club they’ve been played in.
Comfortable in his production zone Oliver decided to launch his own record label ‘‘Dojo records’, which to date lays claim to a string of successful releases. Explaining the philosophy behind the label, named after a mad night out at legendary DC10 he says, “Dojo aims to represent good quality house and tech house...there is much fantastic music out there and a lot of it never sees the light of day. So it just came to me that I could be pushing this music and giving it a lease of life; it is no real phenomenon. I just wanted the label to be held in high regard in ten years time just as any of the great of yesteryear are, I want people to click on ever release and know it’s a winner”.

Underlining Dojo’s credentials as a label to watch out for comes DOJO Ibiza Sessions 2010 which will feature as a covermount CD on the front of the 15 year Anniversary issue of DJ Mag Ibiza. 50, 000 copies will be distributed all over the island from 1st July right through until the end of August. Make sure you pick-up your copy (also available at the airport) to get the CD featuring a sneak preview of Dojo releases together with tracks from leading labels such as Cocoon, Pacha, Toolroom, Systematic, Noir, Saved, Underwater and Gem providing you with the perfect soundtrack to your Ibiza experience whether you play it in the car, back at the villa or on the beach it is guaranteed to get you rockin’! And if you aren’t planning a pilgrimage to the party island don’t worry you can buy the compilation online at the end of the season… for further info please go to the dojo website www.dojomusic.com!
